RedSpeed International has been announced as the sole sponsor of the London Road Safety Council’s centenary conference, which takes place in January 2017.
The conference, ‘Safer Cities, Safer Futures’, will explore the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead for road safety professionals working in cities across the UK.
While the agenda is still under development, confirmed speakers include TRL’s Richard Cuerden (driverless cars), Jane Robinson and Nicola Newman from Atkins (20mph limits), Phil Jones from the CIHT (shared space schemes), Keith Prince from the London Assembly (powered two wheelers) and Dr Mike Esbester from the University of Portsmouth (accident prevention in London).
A leading supplier of digital solutions to the traffic enforcement industry, RedSpeed International specialises in the research, development, manufacture, installation and maintenance of digital cameras.
RedSpeed’s adaptable, advanced technology is designed to improve traffic safety and reduce collisions by deterring motorists from ignoring red lights and speed limits.
RedSpeed holds an ISO 9001 certificate and UK Home Office Type Approval for digital fixed and average speed enforcement equipment.
Robert Ryan, managing director of RedSpeed International, said: “RedSpeed International has always looked for ways of supporting road safety groups in the UK and is very proud to be able to facilitate the celebration of the LRSC 100th year.
“The whole industry needs to keep striving to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads and anything that aids communication and education must be supported”.
Councillor Wendy Brice-Thompson, chair of the London Road Safety Council, said: “We are delighted to have RedSpeed on board as sole sponsor for our centenary conference.
“Their financial contribution will be used to offset the cost of staging the event and to keep the delegate fees as low as possible. This, in turn, will make the conference affordable for many who would otherwise be unable to attend.”
