TfL sets up new incident helpline

sarah-hope-logoA new incident helpline has been launched by Transport for London (TfL) to support people affected by fatal or serious injuries on London’s transport network.

The ‘Sarah Hope’ incident support line has been set up to provide practical and emotional help to those who have been involved in life-changing incidents and fatalities, their families and witnesses of such incidents.

The service is the brainchild of Sarah Hope, who was severely injured by a bus in South London nine years ago.

The helpline is staffed by a dedicated TfL team based in Greenwich, and is a product of months of intensive work between Sarah, TfL and City Hall.

The new service can provide help with travel, accommodation and other needs following an incident, and referrals to specialised support services including counselling.

It can be accessed on 0343 222 5678 (Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm) or by email at: incidentsupport@tfl.gov.uk.
