TfL is to introduce ‘innovative’ new technology in an effort to reduce road danger and disruption caused by roadworks and unplanned incidents on the Capital’s road network.
The London Road Safety Council (LRSC) has urged parents to take the opportunity over the summer holidays to speak to their children about road safety, in a bid to reduce the number of children killed or seriously injured on the Capital’s roads.
More than £500,000 of funding has been made available for community and not-for-profit groups in London to encourage people of all backgrounds to walk and cycle.
‘Road safety heroes’ has been announced as the theme for this year’s Road Safety Week, which takes place between 15-21 November.
TfL says the introduction of at least 50 new enforcement cameras – to enforce civil traffic rules at junctions – will play ‘a vital part’ in helping to meet its Vision Zero ambition.
