New Government figures show the Capital continues to lead the way when it comes to provision for electric vehicle charging.
The DfT statistics show as of 1 January 2021, there were 7,180 electric vehicle charging points publicly available in London.
This compares to 6,155 at the start of January and is more than a quarter of current UK total (22,790).
Breaking down the figure by borough, Westminster has the greatest number of charging points (1,021), followed by Wandsworth (596) and Hammersmith and Fulham (528).
Conversely, Havering (25), Harrow (26) and the City of London (35) are among the lowest.
Of the 7,189 charging points available across the Capital – 579 are defined as rapid.
At 80, London also has by far the most number of charging points per 100,000 of population – with its figure more than double the UK average of 34.
By way of comparison, Scotland is second in the table with 43.
