LRSC to host risk assessment course

LRSC child cycle training

The London Road Safety Council is hosting a one-day course next month to help those delivering road safety activities, including cycle and pedestrian training, to carry out risk assessments.

The Risk Assessment for On-Site Road Safety Activities course takes place at Five Pancras Square, King’s Cross, on 15 February (10.00 – 16.30) .

The course is designed to address the needs of those with responsibility for risk assessing the activities of others on, or adjacent to, the highway. Typical applications include school crossing patrols, cycling training, walking buses, bike trains and practical pedestrian training.

The course also looks at how to apply the same knowledge to the process of risk assessing sites in order to prioritise them.

Delivered by the Transafe Network, the course comprises a mix of classroom-based and on-site practical sessions and includes:

  • Current legislative background to managing risk including the Corporate Manslaughter Act and Health and Safety (Offences) Act
  • Different Risk Assessment methodologies including dynamic risk assessments
  • Interactive learning style
  • Electronic copy of delegate notes
  • Free post-course email support services for all delegates for three months

To book a place on the course (delegate fee £150) – or for more information – contact the LRSC via email.
